Important – please read

Unless otherwise stated, accommodation prices are per room per night (excluding breaks), in GBP £. All prices include Value Added Tax (VAT) at the prevailing rate at the time a payment is made.

Credit / Debit Card Deposits:
All bookings must be guaranteed with a credit or debit card. A non-refundable deposit will be deducted from your card at the time of booking. Some bookings may require full prepayment at the time of booking or additional payment prior to your arrival. Any outstanding balance is payable on departure from the hotel.
Failure to cancel your booking will result in full payment being charged to the debit/credit card the deposit was taken from. All bookings require a deposit to the rate of the first night’s stay. We operate a 72-hour cancellation policy, whereby cancellations made after this time will be fully charged. All deposits are non-refundable.

We will keep your deposit for six months for a future booking at the company’s discretion providing you cancel 72 hours before arrival, excluding holiday houses and all bank holidays including Christmas and New Year.
Should The Cliff Hotel & Spa be unable to fulfil the service booked, a hotel gift voucher to the value of payments made or alternative dates will be offered.

Coronavirus Cancellation Policy

Should you need to cancel your reservation due to circumstances arising from the Covid-19 pandemic, we would be happy to re-arrange your reservation to another date within the following 6 months, providing we are given notice of the cancellation, at least three days prior to arrival. Alternatively, your deposit can be transferred to hotel voucher, valid for 12 months, which can be used in the spa, or towards restaurant and accommodation reservations. Those cancellations received within three days prior to arrival, would be subject to full cancellation charges, except for those guests impacted by lockdown restrictions imposed less than 3 days prior to arrival. Please note that failure to notify the hotel of a cancellation, albeit due to reasons due to the Covid-19 pandemic, would incur full cancellation charges.

Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend that you have appropriate travel cover in place should you need to cancel as no refunds are given in any circumstances.

We reserve the right to invoice our guests for damage or negligent soiling caused to any parts of our premises; accidental or otherwise. Failure to inform staff about damage caused to our property may result in further charges to be incurred due to delayed intervention.
Any reckless tampering with equipment including fire alarms and extinguishers will incur a penalty charge.

Please note that smoking is not permitted in any guest bedrooms or indoor public areas, including out of the window. Any guest found to be smoking in their bedroom will incur a fine to the value of the next night’s rate of stay to cover cleaning charges and loss of revenue from smoke damaged rooms. Ashtrays are provided on room balconies, our terrace, and outside the front doors of the hotel for your convenience.

Dining at The Cliff Hotel
A table is allocated to you for the duration of your dining experience which is based on your reservation time and number of guests. Request for particular tables me be honoured but cannot be guaranteed. You may be asked to vacate your table if your allocated time has come to an end. Please make note of all known food allergy and dietary requirements for your party in the comments box upon booking via our online booking calendar or by contacting our team prior to arrival – without prior notice we may not be able to accommodate particular dietary requirements. Some Afternoon Tea options require 24 hour pre-booking. Due to high demand for availability we may require a debit or credit cards number to secure your reservation. If requested, you must provide valid debit or credit card information to make a reservation. Where credit card details are used to secure your reservation, a non-arrival payment of £10.00 per person will be taken from this card in the event that you do not arrive for your booking. Cancellations after 11.00am on the day of the reservation will also incur a cancellation fee of £10.00 per person. Separate terms and conditions apply to promotional events such as Christmas, please refer to the relevant sections on this page.

General Hotel Information for Residents

Settling Your Account
Please be aware that we require full payment for all accommodation charges upon arrival. Should you wish to open an account for additional items such as food and drinks, you may do so using a valid credit or debit card. These items can then be settled upon departure.

Check In and Check Out
You may check in any time after 3:00pm and check out any time before 10:30am.
Early check ins and late check outs may be available upon request, subject to availability.

Dining at The Cliff Hotel
Food is served in our restaurant and bar between 12:00pm and 9:00pm.
Please be aware that we do not automatically reserve a table in our restaurant for guests (unless you are staying on a package which includes dinner). Should you wish to book a table in our restaurant or have a specific time in mind for your evening meal please contact our reservations team. For guests booking upon check in, times and tables are allocated on a ‘first come first served’ basis.
Our dinner, bed and breakfast package includes a £30 per person allowance to be used for food items in our restaurant (please note this does not include beverages).

The Cliff Spa

Unless otherwise stated, all hotel stays include use of our spa facilities; these may be used between 15:00 on your day of arrival and 10:30 on your day of departure. This includes a daily 1 hour time slot of which pre-booking with our Reservations department is strongly advised. The Cliff Spa is open between 08:00 and 20:00 Daily. Should you wish to use these facilities during your stay we strongly recommend advance booking for both treatments and spa use prior to arrival. We are committed to maintaining the tranquil ambience of the spa and, as we have a limited capacity, we are unable to guarantee availability, especially during busy times and reserve the right to turn away hotel residents, as well as day guests, should the spa become full. No refunds or discounts will be given should guests be unable to use the spa due to failure to book in advance or failure to utilise the facilities during their stay.

Please be aware that opening hours are limited for children aged under 16 to 8:00 – 10:00 Daily. and must be supervised by a minimum of 1 adult to every 2 children.

There are also many treatments available with our spa therapists at an extra cost. To avoid any disappointment, booking for treatments is essential, especially at weekends. A full list of treatments can be found on our website or contact the spa via email spa@cliffhotel.com.

At The Cliff Hotel & Spa we allow pets in a limited number of our bedrooms. This is subject to availability and prior approval by the hotel and, unfortunately, we are unable to provide special consideration for guests who arrive at the hotel with their pet without prior arrangement. There is also an additional charge for this. Please be aware that, although pets are tolerated in our bedrooms, reception area and patio, they are not permitted in the public areas of the hotel including the restaurant and bar or our golf course. We also ask that all dogs are kept on a lead at all times within the hotel and its grounds. Dogs may be walked, on a lead, in our carpark and on the designated footpath. We kindly request that dogs are not walked on our golf course or lawn. A charge of £10 for the first evening and £5 per night thereafter will be added to your room account (Certified Guide Dogs are exempt from this charge). We ask that you accompany your pet at all times while staying in the hotel. Pets may not be left in the guest room unattended, should remain off the furniture and in their own bedding. However please be aware that should you leave your pet unattended in your bedroom, your room may not be serviced. Any property damage caused by a pet will be the pet owner’s responsibility and the appropriate charges will be applied to your room account. Any pet fouling will be the pet owner’s responsibility and the appropriate charges will be applied to your room account if it is not disposed of correctly. Pet waste disposal bins are located across the outdoor areas and baggies are available at reception for your convenience. Please note that for your safety, there is CCTV coverage across the outdoor areas. If you are staying in our Luxury Suites, Dogs are not permitted in the Hot Tub.

At The Cliff Hotel we have a 9 hole golf course available to residents and non-residents. Day charges apply for use of this and score cards are available at reception. We are also able to offer discounted rates at Cardigan Golf Club for hotel residents. Please contact Cardigan Golf Club for details of this and to book tee times.

Please note, during some functions we do hold firework displays at the hotel.

Christmas at The Cliff 2022

How to book
Please telephone the hotel to check availability for your chosen dates and to make a provisional reservation. When confirming a booking a deposit is required of £150.00 per room for Residential Packages, £10.00 per person for Parties and Festive Meals. All deposits are non refundable and non transferable. For all Dining Packages, Parties and Events full payment of the balance is required by the 25th November 2022.

For Residential Packages, credit/debit card details will be placed against your reservation and the balance will be debited from your account on the 25th November 2022. If you would like to pay the balance using an alternative method or are booking for multiple parties, please ensure that these details are updated prior to the 25th November 2022 as the card details held against the reservation will be automatically charged for the full balance of all reservations in your party.

Terms and conditions of booking
1. All verbal bookings for festive meals or parties will be treated as provisional and will be held for no longer than 72 hours pending receipt of written confirmation and the appropriate deposit.

2. Christmas and New Year Hotel Packages: Full payment for all bookings is required by the 25th November 2022. For cancellations made between the 1st December and the 12th December, 50% of the package cost will be retained, and for cancellation on or after the 12th December, the total cost of the package will be retained.

Upgrades: Room upgrades are available for all residential packages (subject to availability) at the following cost:

Executive Room (partial sea view): £10 per room per night
Standard Sea View: £15 per room per night
Sea View with Balcony: £20 per room per night
Family Sea View with Balcony: £20 per room per night
Premium Sea View: £30 per room per night
Premium Sea View with Balcony: £40 per room per night
Junior Suite: £100 per room per night
Luxury Suite: £220 per room per night

3. Parties and Events: Bookings not paid in full by the 25th November 2022 will be deemed to have been cancelled and any monies paid will be retained by the hotel.

No refunds of monies paid will be made for cancellation or decreases in the number of guests attending. Monies paid for non-arrivals are forfeited and cannot be transferred to cover food, drinks or overnight accommodation for other members of the party. Should The Cliff Hotel & Spa be unable to fulfil the service booked, your pre-payment will be available to use against another reservation within the following 6 months or you can receive a hotel gift voucher to the value of the payments made.

4. Local licensing authority regulations apply.

5. The information in our Christmas brochure is correct at the time of printing. The hotel reserves the right to amend its packages and prices at any time before booking. Bookings are subject to availability and prices quoted at the time of booking.

6. Except in respect of changes to the rate of VAT, prices will not change once a booking has been made. The hotel reserves the right to alter, amend or cancel the contents of an event or package for any reason, for example if there is a shortfall in the minimum numbers required to operate a programme. In such circumstances you may choose at your sole discretion an alternative date and/or venue, subject to availability, or obtain a full refund from us.

7. Some of our dishes may contain ingredients which could cause an allergic reaction. Guests are advised to check beforehand so that alternative ingredients or dishes can be provided and make themselves knwon to our team prior to dining.

8. These terms are deemed to incorporate the hotel’s general terms of business.

9. We encourage all guests to take out the appropriate travel insurance in order to cover any losses that may arise in the case of cancellation or non-attendance.

Santa Saturday

Pre-booking is essential for Santa Saturday, we kindly ask that you keep to your booking time to avoid any large queues forming. Guest numbers will be strictly managed by staggered entry times to ensure that social distancing regulations are adhered to. Therefore, please arrive promptly for your designated time slot which you will be given upon booking.

Upon arrival, please wait at the check-in point where an elf will check your booking. You will then be taken to have a photo with Santa. You will then be led to your table where your afternoon tea will be served.

Children aged under 2 years can attend free of charge with a paying adult. If you require a gift for a child aged under 2, or a gift for a child having an adult afternoon tea, these are available at £5.00 each.

During your afternoon tea, Santa will visit your table and hand a gift in a labelled gift bag to your child/children.

A time slot of 1 hour 30 minutes has been assigned to your booking.

Please ensure that your children remain seated, other than to be taken to the bathroom.

Upon booking, your children’s names and ages (for Santa gift) will be required.

A non-refundable deposit of £5.00 per guest will be required upon booking. However, should The Cliff Hotel & Spa be unable to fulfil the service booked, a hotel gift voucher to the value of payments made or an alternative date will be offered for the service.

Please ensure that if you or any of your guests are experiencing any COVID-19 related symptoms, the main symptoms being high temperature, new ad continuous cough or a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste, that you do not travel to the hotel and you inform us to cancel your booking.

Christmas Gift Vouchers

When purchasing one of our Christmas Gift Vouchers please be aware that the gift voucher can only be used against the package that is stated on the voucher. The gift voucher is not redeemable for cash. The gift voucher is non-refundable and non-transferable and resale is prohibited. A replacement gift voucher will not be provided if the original is lost, stolen, destroyed or used without permission. Treatments cannot be substituted. The gift voucher is not to be combined with other vouchers and is not valid with other promotions and offers. Vouchers are NOT valid after the expiry date. Both Christmas Gift Vouchers are valid from 1st January until the 10th February 2023. Please note that a booking must be made to redeem this voucher. Further terms and conditions may apply and will be stated on the voucher.

Winter Spa Escape For Two – Available any day of the week (subject to availability) from the 1st January until the 10th February 2023.

New Year Winter Well-Being Gift Package – Monday – Thursday bookings only (subject to availability) from the 1st January until the 10th February 2023.
