Bar Tenders
Our newly built Point Bar & Lounge and the newly expanded Carreg Restaurant leads us to recruit additional Bartenders to our Food & Beverage Department.
We are looking for friendly, efficient and reliable weekend bartenders to assist us in providing excellent service to our guests. Shift patterns vary and can include day or evening work. Weekends are particularly busy in our Bar areas due to the high number of functions and events as well as hotel and restaurant guests.
Experience of bar work, and in the preparation of cocktails would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be given. You may also be required to support other sections within our Food & Beverage Department. Good knowledge and an interest in food and wine would also be advantageous. A variety of shifts are available, with the number of hours subject to business demands and employee availability.
Due to the nature of the job, with regard to working with alcohol, applicants must be 18 years old or over. Having your own transport, or the ability to access lifts, would also be advantageous as evening shifts could finish late at night.
The hourly salary for this post is above the current National Minimum and National Living Wage rates.

Food & Beverage Servers
The Cliff Hotel & Spa are looking for full-time, part-time and seasonal staff to join their Food & Beverage team, working primarily in the newly extended Carreg Bar & Restaurant and The Point Bar & Lounge.
The dining facilities are open for service throughout the day from breakfast through to evening, weekdays and weekends. Rotas are prepared weekly in advance; shift patterns will vary subject to business and seasonal demands.
Responsibilities include – greeting customers and taking them to their tables, taking food orders, collecting meals from the kitchen and drinks from the bar, clearing tables, taking payments (cash and card); preparing the restaurant for service (laying tables etc); polishing cutlery etc.
Successful candidates will need to be efficient and reliable. Previous experience is not essential as training will be provided but the ability to work as part of a team focusing on quality guest service is essential. A friendly and polite manner is also essential.
Having your own transport, or the ability to access lifts, would be advantageous. This post is not suitable for children of compulsory school age.
The hourly salary for this post is above the current National Minimum and National Living Wage rates.

Chefs: Breakfast Chef; Pastry Chef; Chef de Partie
The Cliff Hotel & Spa wishes to recruit additional Chefs to the team following the extension of the Carreg Bar & Restaurant and the addition of The Point Bar & Lounge. Successful applicants will serve freshly prepared, locally sourced food to non-residents as well as hotel guests. Open 7 days a week, these positions are ideal for those competent in high volume. Compliance with all food safety and health & safety policies is essential for these roles. Remuneration from £10 per hour. In-house accommodation may be provided, subject to availability.
Located in a new purpose-built kitchen within the Carreg Restaurant, the Breakfast Chef will work closely with restaurant staff and will also be customer facing. Breakfast times can be busy as occupancy is at a high level throughout the year. The successful applicant will need to pre-prepare breakfast items as well as serve certain items to order to hotel guests. Breakfast shifts are 4-5 weekly approximately 5 hours in length, starting at 6am on weekdays, 6.30am on weekends. Sunday shifts will also include assisting with Sunday Lunch. Unless living onsite, access to transport for the Breakfast Chef is essential for this role.
As well as serving high quality desserts, breads and cakes for the Restaurant, Functions and Events, the Pastry Chef will also prepare our afternoon teas that are highly popular with individual guests as well as larger groups. The weekly hours are in the region of 40-50 over 5 days, with shift times and durations varying subject to business demands. Previous experience as a Pastry Chef is desirable.
The Chef De Partie will have an opportunity to rotate between several sections of the kitchen including Larder, Sauce and the Pass. Ideal for an experienced Demi Chef de Partie looking for progression or those competent in high volume, multi outlet establishments that wish to focus on Restaurant Dining as part of a large culinary team. The weekly hours are in the region of 40-50 over 5 days, with shift times and durations varying subject to business demands.

Kitchen Porter
We have a Kitchen Porter vacancy in our busy kitchen at The Cliff Hotel & Spa. Those appointed will be expected to ensure that all dishes, cutlery, equipment and work surfaces are cleaned at the end of each shift and that all regular cleaning schedules are adhered to in order to maintain high cleanliness standards in the kitchen.
Previous experience is not necessary but those employed need to be reliable with the ability and willingness to work hard. Training will be provided.
As the hotel is open from breakfast through to dinner every day of the week a variety of shifts is available. Rotas are prepared a week in advance, giving notice of which shifts you are required to work the following week.
Those appointed can work on either a part-time or full-time basis. The number of shifts available can vary from 2-3 shifts a week, approx. 12-18 hours, to full time, 30+ hours. This post is not suitable for children of compulsory school age.
Access to transport would be advantageous.

Housekeeping Assistants
The Cliff Hotel & Spa have part-time and seasonal vacancies in their Housekeeping Department, predominantly servicing guest en-suite bedrooms but there may also be opportunities to work in the public areas and in the evenings as Evening Housekeeper/Spa Cleaner.
As our busiest days are Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays we wish to appoint staff who are available on those days as well as on weekdays. Working 3-4 shifts, circa 16 hours, a week, but with the potential for additional hours during busy holiday times. Daytime shifts start at 9.30am on weekdays, 10am on weekends. Schedules are prepared in advance but can vary as bookings change at short notice.
Previous experience is not essential but desirable. The ability to be flexible, hard-working reliable and conscientious is essential. Those appointed will primarily be working as part of a team but may on occasion, need to work on his or her own.
